I had to do some traveling this past week to visit family, which basically absorbed all of my free time. Although I got back home yesterday, I spent the day cleaning, prepping for the Superbowl and then gathering some energy just to watch the game. Sorry to say – I did not make it the entire way through it. However, the ads always offer something exciting:
Watched Lost last night, and if I attempted to explain any of it to you (and you were not watching the show), you would be lost.
What did I think of it? I really liked it. In fact, I thought the start was incredibly strong for the last season. Maybe, it’s because they know where they are headed. Maybe, it’s just because I like the show. Or maybe, it is because I did not have any great expectations. Whatever it was, I liked it. Enjoyed the characters. Enjoyed seeing everyone again. Enjoyed the fact that we have all new mysteries to resolve, and it’s the last season.
Looks to be a great start. Let’s hope that it runs that way all season long.
No! You can not have it! I don’t care how much of a collectible it is. There are just somethings that are wrong, and this is one of them. Leave this one alone. Yes, it is for a good cause (which I donate to yearly), but the answer is still, no.
As much as I would like to, I can not follow every comic book series that comes out. In fact, Robert taught me a wise thing, which is wait for the trade. This looks to be one of those series that I didn’t particular want to follow, and after the first book, I opted not to follow. However, after all of the sneak peaks from DC Universe: The Source, I will definitely have to dig up the back issues or pick up the trade.
I really do need to win the lotto sometime.
By the way, have I mentioned how much I enjoy and reference the Source on a regular basis? I keep looking for something similar on Marvel, and I just haven’t found it.
I am trying to figure out which conventions I am going to make it to this year, as I want to make it to a few more then usual. I have a few goals in mind, and they are:
I would like to see what is involved in getting reaching out to the gay community at the conventions a little more. Over the years, I have attended a number of conventions, and I always see (or bump) into people from the gay community. Some are friends. Some simply set the gaydar off. As so many of us do tend to attend these conventions, I wouldn’t mind seeing a couple of them actually have special events specifically for us. Now, I realize that some have had something in the past, and some have had an “unofficially related” event, which isn’t bad. But don’t we tend to throw better parties in general?
Though I tend to deny it the entire time, I really do enjoy going to these things. In fact, some of the best ones that I have been to are the ones that I have gone to over the last few years with my brother-in-law, Robert. He is too cool. In some ways, I have always been the geek that never fit in with the other geeks, but Robert makes me feel comfortable. Robert lets me be me, which is why I have been eying “MegaCon 2010″ in Orlando, Florida. Robert lives close by, sooooooo. I can kill several birds one stone. Visit the family, Jamie visits the niece and nephew, short vacation, and Robert and I can sneak over to Megacon 2010. (You have to say that with a booming voice – MEGACON 2010!)
While I’m there and before then, I’m going to start looking and trying to promote various conventions. The idea will be to tell you about them, and for you to go and make yourself known. We spend a lot of time and money being geeks. Let them know you are there.
Be sure to help me out. If I miss one, tell me. If you gain some traction, tell me. Let’s get this party started. LOL Couldn’t resist.
Justice Society. Do I need to say anything else? What about this trailer that is skipping around? Oooooh. Aaaaaah.
You can watch it again…..and again….and again. Time to hint to the boyfriend that any dinner plans, clubbing activities, or other items of importance might have to wait.
I think it is time for DC to dump Smallville and create the JLA or JS series. Happy thoughts.
Catching up on a lot of shows last night, and I thought that I would give my 2 cents on each of them.
Lost – Repeat with some insight, which was nice. Helped remember where we were and where we are headed. Was rather refreshing to have a show that seemed to have a defined direction [...]
I’ve been traveling the last few days, and I was about to apologize for having nothing to post. Then I found this!
An exclusive Nahdar Vebb™ figure from Hasbro, which requires you to collect 5 UPC Codes and mail them. I’m not even certain that kids know what snail mail is anymore, which means this one [...]
How sad does that sound? It’s a Saturday morning, and the things on my list have nothing to do with my incredible geekiness. What the frack is that about? So far the list includes:
What Spartacus: Blood and Sand – I recorded it later at night, so I could watch other things.
Finish setting up my netbook.
Clean [...]
Premieres tonight on Starz. Supposed to have some sexy gladiators; however, I think it is going to be a tad to violent for that. Yet, if it is anything like the HBO series Rome, then it is going to be something to enjoy.
