With gay and geeky, I didn’t just want to focus on movies, gaming, and comics. I wanted to include the music geeks. Why? Because Larry Flick is one. Throughout the week, he offers a variety of music seldom heard on one channel or one person. From old to new. From country to R&B to pop and more, Larry knows his music, a good song, and what is likely to be a hit.
Over the last few months, he has introduced me to songs that I had thought that I would never enjoy, like or even listen to. To songs, by most music industry standards, that would never get any form of play on the normal channels.
And time and time again, he has proven that his taste are incredibly broad, and that he knows a good song when he hears it. In fact, one of the best aspects of the show, is when he introduces me to a song, and I can hardly wait to hear him play it again. Some of which I hated and could hardly wait to hear it again. Yet – that is part of why I enjoy his show so much, he doesn’t play the same songs over and over and over again. He plays them just enough.
His show is not devoted 100% to music – he incorporates tabloid news, astrology, reality gossip to enjoying who you are and much much more. While I have called in a few times, mostly I ensure that I get into my car by 7:00 and rush from the car to my desk for the remaining few hours.
- Morning Jolt – Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM EST
- Feel the Spin – Sundays 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM EST
Larry,
I hope that you don’t mind the post, but after all of the incredible music that you have introduced me to and “forced” me to purchase, I owe you some.
