I’ve dropped all of my Superman titles, and to be honest, I have never been that big of a Superman fan.  I hear ya.  It’s Superman, but

I like a bit of humanity in my characters.  (There is a little play on the character there).

Anyway.

This book was awesome.  I whizzed through the story in a minute and ended the book humming the Superman movie soundtrack. In my opinion, that is the best compliment that I could ever give any Superman title.  Superman: Secret Origin took me back to my childhood, when I first saw that a “superman” could fly.

Instead of starting off with an exploding planet, Geoff Johns started with him as a boy discovering that he is very different from the people around him. He started with the realization that I knew enough to jump to a point of discovery, family, and growth.

Great start, and I can’t wait to read the rest.  While I will probably pick up each individual book, as I can’t wait to read the next.  I will definitely include this in my trade-paper collection, as it is a Superman story that all geeks should be a part of.
